Junior Fire Academy FAQ

1. Who can go to the JFA?

    a. The Attendees are selected from the applicants that properly complete the application and are selected by the review committee. 

2. How much is it?

    a. The total cost of the camp is $50.  This includes the needed equipment for safety during the camp.  More information will be given if selected. 

3. How old do you have to be?

    a. This camp is intended for students that will be in the 6th-8th grades in the Fall 2017 school year.

4. What do they need to bring?

    a. An attitude of hard work and willingness to work as a team. 

5. What if I can’t make it all the days?

    a. The camp is designed for you to be there all 5 days.  You are put into teams and you are encouraged to be there. 

6. Is it dangerous?

    a. All precautions are taken to avoid injury and provide a safe learning experience. 

7. Will I go into a burning house?

    a. No, but you will be working with active fire and other Firefighter tasks.

8. Can I drive the Fire Truck?

    a. Unfortunately no... but you will be working with many of the trucks and their crews during camp!

9. Why do I have to fill out an application?

    a. This is a unique and intense camp requiring dedication and your full attention.  Only those truly interested in working hard need apply
