Upcoming Street Closures for Sanitation Work

The Richmond Sanitation District will be replacing existing storm water inlets, adding additional storm manholes and pipes to areas of Southeast Parkway and South 23rd Street. In order to install the new manholes and sewers to complete the project, it is necessary to close South 27th Street, Southeast Parkway, and South 23rd Street to through traffic during construction. These closures, as presented and approved by the City's Board of Public Works and Safety in the February 6th meeting, will occur in a three part sequence starting February 10, 2020.

Closure 1
Anticipated Start Date: February 10th, 2020
Anticipated Duration: 10 days
Scope: South 27th Street between Southeast Parkway and South A Street

Closure 2
Anticipated Start Date: Work will begin after work at first closure area is complete.
Anticipated Duration: 10 days
Scope: South Parkway between South 27th Street and Glen Miller Parkway.

Closure 2
Anticipated Start Date: Work will begin after work at second closure area is complete.
Anticipated Duration: 15 days
Scope: South 23rd Street
