Tuesday Twilight Markets Begin Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Jack Elstro Plaza

RICHMOND, IN. – The long, hot, dog days of summer mean a couple things for residents of the City of Richmond: weekends spent at the Cordell Municipal Pool, Richmond Jazz baseball games, and the Richmond Farmers Market Tuesday Twilight Markets! In addition to the weekly Saturday morning Farmers Market, Tuesday Twilight Markets will begin on July 6, 2021 and run through October 30, 2021, each week from 4- 7pm at Jack Elstro Plaza.

The  purpose of the Richmond Farmers Market is to create a sales venue for area farmers, provide opportunity for consumers to purchase quality farm-grown goods, provide a community gathering place, and to promote and stimulate economic development and create traffic in the Downtown area. Holding an additional market throughout the week allows the City of Richmond, the farmers, and the artisans to even better meet these needs.

July brings with it some of the most-anticipated produce of the summer. With all the work farmers are putting in managing their farms this time of year, it makes sense to have another day at the Market to sell their harvest. The Tuesday Twilight Market provides that space and allows customers to have access to those fresh fruits and vegetables. Cierra Bailey, new Farmers Market Coordinator for the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department stated, “This Tuesday will be my first market as the new Richmond Farmers Market Coordinator and I came at just the right time, peak vegetable and fruit season! I’m excited for the fresh tomatoes, hot peppers, peaches, and sweet corn coming our way and I can’t wait to meet all the vendors and community members.”

At the Tuesday Twilight Markets there is not only fresh, local produce, meat, dairy, eggs, and handcrafted artisan goods, but also beer, wine, food trucks, and live music! Each week, a local restaurant will set up a beer and wine garden for people to enjoy while they listen to live music at the Plaza; the Tuesday Twilight Market will be the place to stop after work and eat, drink, gather with friends, and support local farmers and artisans! On July 6th, Richmond will welcome The Hammer and the Hatchet, a bluegrass/americana band from the hills of southern Indiana.

The vendors and staff at the Richmond Farmers Market invite all area residents to attend the Tuesday Twilight Market each week from 4-7pm, July through October, as well as the Saturday morning market each week from 8am-12pm, May through October. Both events are held at the Jack Elstro Plaza. The Richmond Farmers Market operates rain or shine, except in cases of severe weather.
