Drive Thru Egg Hunt Press Release

For Immediate Release
March 16, 2021

RICHMOND, IN. – The Richmond Parks and Recreation Department announces their annual Egg Hunt is back in person and with an UNIQUE twist! The community is invited to take a fun filled drive through Glen Miller Park to participate in this year’s Egg Hunt. The DRIVE THRU EGG HUNT is scheduled for Saturday, March 27, 2021 from 12pm-3pm (rain date: April 3) and is sponsored by First Bank Community Foundation, Primex Plastics Corporation, G101.3, and Meijer!

This year, families will enter Glen Miller Park off Grand Blvd or the Madonna of the Trail entrances and follow North Drive until they reach the beginning of the drive thru route. Upon arrival, attendees will be given a map and instructions on how to find the “hidden” eggs along the trail. Eggs big and small will cover the route but only a select few have letters on them that when unscrambled will spell out a secret message. Along the route, there will be five stops where volunteers will pass out different goodies including candy, crafts, and mini games.

Every child 12 years old and younger will receive a goody basket sponsored by First Bank while supplies last. Additionally, every child 12 years and younger will be entered in a drawing for larger prizes including bicycles, scooters, board games, art supplies, and more sponsored by Meijer. G101.3 will be providing music while broadcasting remotely from Glen Miller Park.

“We are very thankful for our sponsors and volunteers who have made this event so exciting. The prizes are awesome and we cannot wait to decorate the entire route with eggs for our community to count and find.  There will also be a special surprise at the end of the route.” said Alyssa Soria, Special Events and Recreation Intern

MORE “EGG”CITING FUN!

In addition to eggs for the Drive Thru Egg Hunt on March 27, the Parks Team will be working with Primex Plastics to place eggs all over the Richmond Parks system and the Richmond area. This is a direct effort to bring smiles to faces, celebrate springtime, and provide engagement for our community.  Primex and the Parks Department asks the community to take a picture with one of the Primex Plastics Eggs, use #RichmondIsEGGcellent in your photo on either Facebook or Instagram (don’t forget to set your post to public), to be entered into a contest for some amazing prizes, including gift cards to our local restaurants and small businesses.

“Primex has had the honor to call Richmond home for almost 50 years, and without the community support for our company and our employees we would not be as strong as we are today. With the Easter season upon us, this was a way we could have some fun and say “thank you” to the entire community for all that they do to support us.” said Doug Borgsdorf, Business Unit Director for Primex Plastics Corporation
