Update 11/3/2022: Originally this story listed a reopen date around November 8th. We've since been informed that the date was too optimistic and they are now aiming for sometime in November.
The City of Richmond has been informed that the Indiana Department of Transportation is hoping reopen the 800 block of East Main Street in November. In addition, lane restrictions on North “A” Street will end, opening all three westbound traffic lanes. US 27/North 9th Street will continue to be limited to one lane as crews continue improving the road.
INDOT's contractor has worked on utilities beneath Main Street at the intersection of N 9th which necessitated the closure. The street has been closed to road traffic since late July. Additionally, new sidewalks and curbs have been installed at the intersection.
