Wood Weekend 2020
Wood Weekend 2020 will take place on 10/17 and 10/18 with cutting of high priority dead trees taking place 10/13-10/16 at both Mary Scott and Glen Miller Park.
We're invite the community to come remove downed trees for their own use. In order to do so, participants are required to apply and fill out all of the necessary paperwork. There are 50 permits available to the public at Glen Miller for 10/17 and 10/18 and 10 permits at Mary Scott for 10/17 only. Each permit can have up to 4 participants over the age of 18 who must ride in the same vehicle to and from the park.
No heavy equipment will be allowed, and all rules and procedures must be followed in order to participate.
Glen Miller Park will be closed from the 10/13 to 10/18. We're requesting that all Glen Miller Wood Weekend participants enter and exit on Elks Road. All other entrances will be closed.
We've begun issuing permits on a first come first served basis at the Park Office located in Glen Miller Park at 2200 East Main Street beside the playground.
Permit holders will be able to remove downed wood from Glen Miller Park on 10/17 and 10/18 from 8:00am to 3:00pm.
There will also be wood available at Mary Scott Park only on 10/17 (101 NW 8th Street) from 8:00am to 3:00pm for permit holders.
If wood is still available after Wood Weekend ends, pick up opportunities will continue, 8:00-3:00pm Monday- Friday, until all downed trees are removed.
