Housing Resources


This is a free, state online resource for renters and property managers in Indiana. The dynamic search options allow you to find affordable, accessible and market-rate housing that will fit your needs. For additional assistance, please call 1‑877‑428‑8844 (toll free) Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. Eastern. Dial 7‑1‑1 for TTY. Dial 2‑1‑1 if you are in a housing crisis.

Applications will open July 13th for Indiana COVID-19 Rental Assistance Program:This program can provide up to $2,000 in assistance to help cover past due and ongoing monthly rent or late fees.

IHCDA's COVID-19 Eviction & Foreclosure Prevention Guide

Transition Resources Corporation Distributing CARES Act ESG-CV Funding for District 9. They have Rental Assistance which provides homeless prevention to individuals affected by the pandemic, and Rapid Rehousing, which provides assistance to currently homeless individuals and families. Wayne Township Trustee Providing two levels of rental/mortgage/utility assistance: support that is not COVID-19 related and support that is COVID-19 related. Depending on household situation, applicants may qualify for both. Call 973-9392 or 969-2371.

Utility Resources

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Providing assistance with heat and electric bills. The deadline to apply for energy assistance has been extended to July 31, 2020 for Program Year 2020. Questions? Call Interlocal Community Action Program (ICAP) Richmond: (765) 488-2416

Richmond Sanitary District: Disconnects are suspended until July 4th. Payment arrangements are made available to customers who are behind on their bills. Call (765) 983-7450 to discuss options

Richmond Power & Light: Disconnect suspended until July 1st.

Vectren (Gas): Need help paying your bill? Learn about payment plan options and resources that may be available. Call: 800-227-1376 or visit them online.

Indiana American Water: Review your bill and learn more online.

Services

Centerstone, Horizon House, 47 South 15th Street, 877-467-3123. Horizon House is a drop-in center providing adults in the community a safe place to connect with necessary resources in the community.  Linkages and referrals can be made by the on-site Recovery Coach. Access to computers, phones, kitchen for preparing food, laundry and shower are on-site.
