East Main Street Between N 5 & N 7 Opening

the City of Richmond has a new website

As of the evening of August 21, 2019, East Main Street between North 5th Street and North 7th Street will be reopening. These two blocks of East Main Street have been closed due to work on the Phase I of the Stellar Complete Streets project. While East Main Street is now open streets to traffic, there is still remaining work on the sidewalks and paths. Foot traffic will be limited in incomplete areas for public safety. Phase I is on track to be complete by the end of the month.

Richmond Power and Light is scheduled in install new street lights early next week, pending final receipt of goods. Temporary lane closures will be required to manage safe light installation.

Until all construction is complete, all on-street parking on East Main Street between North 5th and North 7th will remained closed. This is for public safety. Customers should be encouraged to utilize available on-street parking on North 6th Street, North 7th Street, and North Service Drive, as well as, the Elstro and former Elder-Beerman parking lots.
