the City of Richmond has a new website
Leaf collection inside the city limits will run from October 21st through December 6th, 2019, weather permitting. The Richmond Street Department will have six crews covering all areas of the city within a 10 to 15 working day period.
Leaf piles should be raked into the roadway approximately two feet from the curb or edge of the road, where possible. In areas that have little or no curb lane, leaf piles should be raked to the very edge of the curb or roadway. Piles should be no more than two feet high in order to avoid obstructing the vision of drivers, as well as to facilitate leaf pick-ups efficiency.
If leaf piles are contaminated with any yard debris (this includes grass clippings, branches, garden waste, etc.), Street Department crews will not be able to remove leaf piles.
Those residents who live on U.S. 27, U.S. 40 and S.R. 227 South (Boston Pike) must bag their leaves and call the Richmond Sanitation District for a special pick up (765-983-7450). Special pickups are scheduled on Mondays. Residents are limited to ten, 30-gallon bags of leaves a week. Please note that leaves will not be picked up by the Richmond Sanitary District in weekly trash collection.
If you have questions, please call the Richmond Street Department at 765-983-7225.
