Parks & Recreation Department Seeks Donations for Year-End Fundraising Campaign

November 29, 2022

The City of Richmond Parks & Recreation Department is thrilled to announce the launch of “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow!”: a year-end fundraising campaign to transform our parks, and ensure our community continues to be a destination for families seeking vibrant outdoor spaces and diverse community programs.

“Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow!” will serve not only the needs of our community today but the needs of future generations by enhancing our park facilities and expanding our programs.

By supporting “Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow!”, you are empowering the Richmond Parks & Recreation Department to:

  • Complete necessary enhancements to park facilities: safety, beautification, etc.
  • Expand and diversify community programs: Farmers Market, movement classes, etc.
  • Foster a vibrant community with accessible and equitable parks programs

New this year, for every donationno matter the amount—one tree will be planted on any of the 1,100 acres of land that is owned by the Parks Department. As Richmond continues to grow and evolve, so too should our parks and land continue to grow and evolve to satisfy the needs of our community.

The campaign has raised $102,000 of its $125,000 goal!

Our community never ceases to amaze me with their generosity and support that shines bright each year for our parks. This year it is imperative that our community step up to continue that support for parks so we can continue striving for the excellent parks, programs, and events our community deserves!

—Denise Retz, Park Superintendent
