Richmond Celebrates 'Day for Kids'

The theme this year will be Richmond Celebrates Heritage! for our Saturday, September 17, 2016 Indiana Bicentennial theme may include the colors blue and gold, or items related to Indiana's history and much more; we want your creativity!
The Mayor honors our youth as our most valuable resource and the livelihood, creativity and future leadership of our community.  We would like these events to represent a collective journey of hope and success for our youth.
This is the nationally recognized designated “PLAY DAY” for Playful Cities and “Day for Kids” for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.  
Parks and Recreation Department ‘s 20th Annual FAMILY FUN FEST is hosted at 10th Street Park and will begin at 11:00 am providing information from community agencies and youth groups, activities, candy, toys and most important FUN until 2:00 pm.  For further information on the Family Fun Fest, contact. RICHMOND CELEBRATES KIDSFEST MOONLIGHT PARADE will begin at 8:00 pm at Glen Miller Park and travel down (US 40) to 14th Street.  The committee welcomes floats, marching bands, step teams, dance teams, sports teams, youth groups and other organized parade units.   We encourage those who might not be able to build a float to participate by composing walking groups wearing themed attire.

This parade is a Kick off event for KIDSFEST a community event taking place the month October.  KIDSFEST vision is creating a community where kid’s dreams do come true, one step at a time.
