Trash & Recycling Pickup
RESIDENTIAL TRASH COLLECTION
Richmond Sanitary District collects trash from residential customers once a week Tuesday through Friday. All customers must have a Rosie Roller trash container. Please call 765-983-7456 for assistance.

• Weekly trash pick up with a 96 gallon cart. A second* 65 gallon cart will be available upon request for an additional $1.00 added to the monthly sewer bill.
Special Pick-Ups: • Christmas tree pick up is included in the program at no additional cost. Please have Christmas trees placed where your trash is picked up.
Household is allowed 10 extra bags or bundles per week of Landscape waste. 4 foot bundle of twigs/limbs that are tied and bundled in addition trash containers.
Grass Clippings: We do NOT pick up grass clippings. This material must be taken to the Residential Resource Recovery Area at the New Paris Pike Landfill for disposal. There is no charge.
Bulky Item Pickup:
Bulky items include household furniture, appliances, bicycles, carpet etc. NO tires.
AIR CONDITIONERS, DEHUMIDIFIERS, REFRIGERATORS AND FREEZERS: These items contain the refrigerant freon. Under federal law, the appliance has to be checked and the freon removed for recycling before it can be disposed of. There is a $35.00 charge (subject to change), for all appliances containing freon. The fee must be paid before the items will be scheduled for pick-up.
• The 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month will be the weeks that recycling is picked up.
• Recycling pick up will be the same day as trash pick-up.
• Upon request a 96 gallon or 32 gallon cart are available free of charge.
List of material to be recycled:
Steel and Bi-metal Cans: food & pet food cans. NO sheet metal, coat hangers or scrap metal
Plastic Containers: #1 & #2 - Soda, milk, juice and detergent containers. Plastic containers are produced in a variety of forms. The best way to identify what can be recycled is to look on the bottom of the container. There will be a triangle with a #1-7 in the center. We will only accept #1 & #2.
Aluminum Cans: Soda and Beer cans
Newspaper: We recycle newspapers, magazines, office paper or catalogs.
Glass Jars & Bottles: Clear, brown and green containers. Recyclable glass containers are food and beverage containers. NO ashtrays, crystal, mirrors, fish tanks, windows, drinking glasses or light bulbs.
Please do not put recyclable in plastic bags when placing into the recycling container.

Commercial trash can be schedule to be picked up 3 times a week, Monday, Wednesday and or Friday. When obtaining the 3-yard container for trash removal please specify which days you would like trash removal. If you chose once or twice a week and need to add an additional day please call 765-983-7456
