Youth ProgramsJust Us Kids Outdoors (JUKO)

Join us for another great summer of Just Us Kids Outdoors (JUKO)! JUKO is a free summer day camp that gives kids the chance to have a fantastic summer full of fun activities! Each day, the children receive lunch prepared by Richmond Community Schools through the USDA Summer Food Service Program. No registration deadline summer or cap on enrollment. Art in the Park
Art in the Park is a mini-camp that gives children the opportunity to create something meaningful that will benefit the entire community. Each week, we will explore different elements of design, and create artwork influenced by them. New this year is a photography component! There will also be fun games, songs, and free lunches! Talented Tykes
Join us at Mary Scott Park for a great preschool program, Talented Tykes. We will learn new games, have lunch, and make an awesome craft! We will also enjoy singing songs, and meeting new friends! Don’t miss out on this great summer program for preschoolers! Click here for more information!

Little JUKO
The mini version of JUKO, this two week summer camp is for children ages 3-5. Each day we have tons of fun when we play games, read stories, make a cool craft, and eat lunch together! Click here for more information!

Youth Sport Opportunities
Check out our options for Youth Sports! We have Challenger Soccer with British instructors and the First Tee golf program. Our parks offer space to play and more! Check out our Sports page for more information.

Active at the Pool
Keep cool this summer at Cordell Municipal Pool. Practice safety first and take the Learn to Swim class! Bring out the entire family for our Family Night.Check out our Cordell Municipal page for more information.

Special Events

Egg Hunt 
Join our Egg Hunt! This fun event takes place early spring and serves as a fundraiser for our JUKO program. A $2 donation gets you in the door! Don't be late - the egg hunt doesn't last too long! Bring a camera to take pictures with the Big Bunny, and return empty eggs to claim a goodie bag!

Family Earth Day Celebration
This celebration takes place near Earth Day! Join us as we highlight a fun main stage, local organizations, and have the chance to win prizes! Cope Environmental Center, Richmond Family YMCA, and Richmond Parks and Recreation team up to give you an earth-friendly, family fun celebration!

Neighborhood Movies
Thanks to a generous grant from the Wayne County Foundation, we purchased an inflatable movie screen letting us bring the movies to you in your neighborhood! Movies begin at dusk, but activities are provided by our JUKO counselors! So bring your lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a movie under the stars. Movie showings and locations are constantly changing! Make sure you've got the correct information by visiting our Facebook page!

Father Daughter Walk
The Father Daughter Walk is an evening dedicated to the special bond fathers and daughters share. This fun July event has giveaways, games, photos in the Rose Garden, and of course, walking!

Back to School Splash Bash
Say goodbye to summer and hello to a new school year! The Back to School Splash Bash will have activities such as music, contests, and more! Bring a donation in the form of school supplies, admission will be reduced by $1!

Movies in the Glen
What’s better than a movie under the stars? Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to Roosevelt Hill in Glen Miller Park every Saturday in August for Movies In The Glen! We will also have toys available prior to the movie too! Movies range from G to PG-13, so check out what's playing to decide what's appropriate for your family!

Mother Son Date Night
Join us for a evening with the special guy in your life! We will have games, crafts, and refreshments. Each “couple” can have their photo taken together at a fun and silly photo booth! We will have giveaways at the end of the evening.

Family Fun Fest 
The annual Family Fun Fest happens every year in September! It's a fall event featuring games, prizes, entertainment, and more! Carnival-style games, a Discover Zone with community agencies, and a jam-packed stage schedule make for fun for the whole family! Partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of Wayne County and their Day for Kids to host a fun filled day!

Halloween Howl
We’re scaring up some family fun! Join us at the Halloween Howl for a “Boo-tastic” time! We'll have a scary good time with candy, fun, games, candy, prizes, candy, contests, music, and did we mention candy? We're offering up all the scary fun your family can handle at the Tom Raper Center, Wayne County Fairgrounds! Please bring a canned good item to donate to the local food pantry.

Rosemary Weigel Frostbite 5K 
Everyone is invited to join in the run/walk experience. For the area’s runners, they’ll be able to compete in the last race in the Wayne County Challenge, bringing to an end the year’s eight 5K race commitment. For the walkers, it’ll be a 5K like no other. Being the only evening run/walk in the Challenge gives us the perfect backdrop to light the park with luminaries, play holiday music throughout the race, and serve hot chocolate! You won’t want to miss this 5K experience!

Celebration of Lights
Our annual 'Welcome to Winter' happens in Glen Miller Park. The park is lined with thousands of luminaries, as we feature carriage rides around the lake, seasonal music, a visit from Santa Claus, hot chocolate and more! Bundle up to take a serene stroll through the park! 


Buy Fresh and Local at the Farmers Market
We've taken on a new task in working with the Farmers Market! It's where you can buy fresh and local, all while supporting our local farmers! Click here for more information!


Stay Active with Adult Programs
Adult Lap Swim
Swimming is wonderful exercise and a great way to start your summer days! Ages 18 and over. More information on the Cordell Municipal Pool page!

Adult Softball Leagues
Sign up for Softball and enjoy summer playing games! We have commercial, industrial, and coed leagues for you to join. Get the workplace together for a great bonding experience. Click here for more information!
