Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan
The City of Richmond is positively thrilled about the adoption of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which will serve as a ‘road map’ in planning future transportation facilities.
The Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan was developed in large part from community input. More than 100 residents attended public meetings, using markers and colored stickers to highlight positive and negative aspects of transportation in Richmond. Those who could not attend participated in an online survey. The City was thrilled by the number of received responses - They expected 50 participants but received almost 400!
The City looks forward to utilizing this plan to guide development for alternate transportation into the future. Implementing recommendations of the plan have the potential to greatly improve bicycle and pedestrian safety in Richmond and to catalyze many associated benefits to the health and wellness of its residents.
